Japan and the Axis should not have started world war 2 .
After Japan started world war 2 , Japan should not have attacked the US ; which is flanked by Pacific and Atlantic ocean as natural barrier , and has massive economic and military potential ; and provided justification for the US to conscript and mobilize his economic and military potential to intervene militarily in favor of the Allies .

After Japan military attacked the US , Japan military should have consolidated Japan navy to island hopped to the American mainland and invade American mainland , instead of invading south east Asia which in turn directly expose the strategic flank of Japan military to the US military .
The US military directly cut into strategic flank of Japan military in south east Asia by invading Philippines island and isolate Japan military in maritime south east Asia which in turn is aggravated by the island geography of south east Asia and subsequent control of sea space by the US ..
By not bringing the war to American mainland and fight the war on American mainland , Japan military has provided enough time and safe haven for the US to conscript and mobilize his economic and military potential to build a superior military to counterattack the Axis .
